Many of today's health care organizations are in the midst of integrating electronic health records (EHR) - while others have already completed EHR adoption - into their IT workflow. But that is not to say paper-based patient information no longer exists. In fact, most health care facilities still rely on fax machines to transmit health information.
As EHR adoption increases, however, it will become imperative that tomorrow's hospitals have integrated their fax and other paper-based information delivery methods into their EHR systems.
